Festivals in Riyadh
My tenth graders invited me to attend the annual Janadriyah Festivals in Riyadh. I have spent the past three years in this fascinating city and I never actually had the opportunity to go to this cultural event, until now. Two other teachers and I paraded the streets with a half a dozen girls, giggling like children and purchasing rise wreathed necklaces, homemade Saudi grape leaves (similar to Syrian style) and traditional head dressings, pictured above.
I was not able to take more photos because it was extremely crowded and I didn't want to be disrespectful, but I intend to, God-willing, update this post with more details and better writing.
