Cutest Homemade Hygiene Products!
I was so excited yesterday when, at the local farmer's market, I saw an adorable little stand called "twigs and roots." The woman made her own natural deodorants, toothpastes, salves, and other things. I spent $40 and got everything pictured above.
When I got home, the important work began. First, Suzie Q had to inspect everything I purchased, to protect me of course. And, thankfully, the objects passed Suzie's pretty inspection!
For myself, I bought this small paste for cuts that I can carry around with me. With four nieces and nephews, it's going to come in handy this summer. I also bought this really awesome smelling lavender deodorant, and my favorite thing of all--the cinnamint toothpaste! It smells/tastes better than Whole Food's brands, and it was made by hand locally. Double win!
Also, as a peek into a future "Creativity" post (God-willing), I bought gifts for my coworkers and/or students in Riyadh (I haven't decided yet). I bought a huge bag of Herbal Bath Soak, and the woman was nice enough to give me these adorable mini burlap pouches. I plan on filling each pouch with a little of the chamomile/lavender mixture and tying it to the woman's business card with directions on how to use it on the back. It would make a really great face steam for the brutally dry Riyadh weather. I can't wait!
