I LOVE the farmer's market in Nashville.  The people are so nice, the booths are so quaint and beautiful, and the food is ah-mazing.  I found these strange looking, colorful bell-peppers at one of the stands from a local organic farm.  I also bought black bean hummus from The Hummus Chick.  I taste-tested different hummus (her cilantro hummus was AWESOME), but alas, she was sold out of everything but the black-bean flavor.

To be honest, I found the black bean hummus to be just a teenie-tiny bit over-rated.  This may just be because I am spoiled to have my family's recipe, which is flipping AWESOME and can't be beat.  I decided to add a short recipe of my own rendition of her black bean hummus below: 


- 1 cup canned garbanzo beans

- 1/2 cup canned black beans

- 1/2 cup tahini sauce

- 2/3 cup lemon juice

- 1/4 cup water

- 2 teaspoons salt & pepper

- 2-3 twigs parsley for garnish

Directions: Blend beans together with tahini and water.  Add lemon juice slowly and continue to blend.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  Garnish with parsley and eat with colorful bell-pepper "chips."  Yummy!
