Think Tank Time!
It's only four months before I get to go home and work to my heart's content on new renovations. The truth is, I am thinking about focusing less on the inside of the big old house and more on the outside.
My relatives that visit me are not in the best of physical shape, and the steep slopes and broken driveway--not to mention the slippery, mildew-y pathway leading up to Unit B--is recipe for disaster. I may have to borrow money from family in order to level out the landscaping and correct the foundation issues on my sister's side.
Then we can get back to the fun stuff.
For exterior, I am thinking about brick and mortar staining, pressure washing and wood and concrete staining, adding decorative shutters and window flower boxes, and re-sodding the lawn and adding new low-maintenance flowers/etc. My sister really wants to build a vegetable garden with her kids as well.
I have exactly 11 weeks left of teaching, 2 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks of revision, 2 weeks of exams, 2 weeks of pre-planning for next year, and then I am home free!
I need to start getting in shape so I can handle the work from now.
